Dialogue

Task 1 (3-4 minutes)

You and your friend are planning to spend a week holiday in a city about 1,000 kilometres away from where you live. You are deciding how to get there.

You can go:

- by fast train;

- by plane;

- on board the ship;

- by bus.

Task 2 (3-4 minutes)

You and your friend want to take up a new hobby together. You are discussing which hobby to take up. You can start:



- doing photography;

- collecting stamps;

- painting and drawing;

- going to the museums and exhibitions.

Task 3 (3-4 minutes)

You and your friend haven’t done much exercise recently. You’re both feeling unwell and want to get fit. You and your friend are discussing what to do in order to get fit. These are your main options:



- taking regular exercise;

- keeping to a diet;

- jogging;

- swimming.

Task 4 (3-4 minutes)

You are on holiday with your friend and it is your final day. You have time to see one more tourist attraction before leaving. You and your friend are discussing where to go and what to see.

You can go to:

- Trafalgar Square ;

- the British Museum;

- one of the parks;

- London Eye.

Task 5 (3-4 minutes)

Your class is given a task to prepare a report on one of the British holidays. You and your friend are discussing different holidays to choose for the report. You can choose from:



- Easter;

- Christmas;

- New Year;

- Guy Fawkes Day.

Task 6 (3-4 minutes)

You and your friend want to spend next Sunday at an adventure park doing a sport you’ve never done before. You are discussing which sport to do. Whichever sport you choose, all equipment will be provided and skilled experts will make sure you are not in danger.

You can choose from :

- playing cricket;

- boxing;

- boating and sailing;

- playing tennis.

Task 7 (3-4 minutes)

You and your classmate were told to do a project together about Great Britain. You are discussing what to do for the project. You are allowed to choose from four aspects:



- geographical position of Great Britain (the parts the UK consists of, their capitals, big cities);

- the people who live in the UK and the languages they speak;

- The Queen and the Parliament;

- holidays an traditions.

Task 8 (3-4 minutes)

Your Mother’s birthday is tomorrow. You want to make a surprise present for your Mom, but you can’t decide what to do: to cook something for dinner or buy a present. You and your friend are in a supermarket. You decide to buy:



- a cake at the baker’s;

- meat at the butcher’s and cook it;

- biscuits, cakes and sweets at the sweet shop;

- her some new towels.

You begin the conversation. The examiner will play the part of your friend.

Remember to:

• discuss all the options

• be polite when agreeing / disagreeing with your friend

• take an active part in the conversation:

- explain the situation - find out about your friend's attitudes and take

- come up with ideas them into account

- give good reasons - invite your friend to come up with suggestions

• come to an agreement
